LISTEN:Listen to your body! It may save your life! Sept 96 - Experienced a minor discomfort while running, I went to the Emergency Clinic, my doctor and a cardiologist, they all said I was fine! Another discomfort two weeks later, my doctor sent me to the cardiologist for further checking. I had a 80% - 90% blockage of a major artery known as the "widow maker." After an unsuccessful angioplasty I was admitted to St Joseph's Hospital Christmas 1996 for bypass surgery! I was told that if I was not in such good shape and if I was obese, smoked or diabetic I would not have made it to the OR!
